Dr. Venuturupalli is a preeminent authority in the field of rheumatology. Graduating from the National Medical College in Mumbai - India, he completed his residency as Chief Resident at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.
After a combined fellowship in health services research with UCLA's School of Medicine, the RAND Corporation, and the Greater Los Angeles Veteran's Administration Medical Center; he conducted pioneering research on complementary and alternative medicine, publishing studies on Ayurvedic medicine, dietary supplements, and mind-body medicine. Dr. Venuturupalli then completed a rheumatology fellowship at the UCLA-Olive View medical program.
Being one of the nations leading research investigators for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory muscle diseases and ankylosing spondylitis; he is involved in over a hundred clinical trials at the Cedars Sinai Division of Rheumatology.
Dr. Venuturupalli brings an investigative and innovative based approach to his work and has published many peer-reviewed articles, text-book chapters and is the Editor-in-Chief of ‘Current Rheumatology Reviews.’ He is a clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and enjoys lecturing frequently on rheumatology, including alternative and complementary medicine, not only to the public but also to his peers and is an integral part of the American College of Rheumatology, UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
He is highly regarded by his colleagues and patients for outstanding service, dedication to patients and advancing treatment options through medical research and awareness efforts, and is a sought-after teacher in his field of expertise. He has served as the past president of the Southern California Rheumatology Society, and is actively engaged with the Arthritis Foundation and Lupus LA in their efforts to find a cure.
